Scanner Troubles

Hello again!

My scanner is still on the fritz. I haven't been able to scan in my work, so that's somewhat depressing. I have a few things to show not only friends, but those who stop by my ConceptArt.org sketchbook, where I post studies, experiments, and serious work (Sometimes I put a silly pic up). If you're interested, it can be found here:

http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=131797

I'd pay the most attention to page 5. That has newer stuff (and by new I mean a month old. Lol)

I've been dabbling in Colored Pencils and Watercolor paints. I'm starting to like traditional methods of coloring. (I'm a total digital nerd.) Sadly, I cannot scan in what I did, but I did take a rather low quality webcam snapshot of it, so hopefully you can somewhat see what I did here:

Once the scanner's working, I'll be able to get a much better quality image of it. It does look better than this. :D I'm pretty happy with how it came out. I did spend four or five hours on it. Feedback is always appreciated if you'd like to drop a comment sometime.

I'll post some more stuff later, if I can get my scanner to work. I just really wanted to show this one. ;)

Have a good weekend, everyone! Hope Thanksgiving went well.

Thanksgiving Plans

Hello all!

This Thanksgiving I'm going to be the one who cooks the dinner. Like...90% of it. I guess Mom finally wants to catch a break from doing most of it. Aw well, it'll be interesting to see how I make it turn out. LOL. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving, and gets nice and stuffed while giving the well needed thanks for whatever they have. :)

Remember, life can end at any minute for any person, for any reason. Please appreciate what you already have, and what you've already gotten to experience.

As for drawing, I've been fiddling with the paints lately. Once I get the hang of them (Which I have been somewhat), I've found that they're actually pretty fun to use. I may do some small paintings with watercolor, seeing as it's all I have, and post them here.

My good buddy Tonya is also letting me experiment with her markers, so expect some colorful stuff coming! :D

If anyone on DeviantART who knows me has a blog, let me know so I can follow it. I'd like to hear all about you guys as well. ^^ Reading my own stuff gets fairly boring. LOL

And now, the rant of the day!

Now why on Earth do people have the tendency to call people who kill themselves "Heroes"? I'm sure a lot of you remember the kid who killed himself with a gun to the head because he lost his iPod. This sparked the whole "An Hero" meme on 4chan and ED because of his friends' typoes on their comments of him and whatnot. Thing is, how is this little idiot a hero?

There's nothing heroic about killing yourself over something this stupid! Condolences to the family and all that, I'm not heartless, but come on!

Kids, please don't be stupid. Get a new iPod later on, and try not to get a hold of guns.

And that's the rant of the day. Take care, everyone!

Sky's Scribbles -- A brand new blog!

Hello world!

I decided to get a small little blog to give my friends little updates on myself, as well as teach new visitors about myself. :)

So to begin for those new people, my name is Ashlee, but my nickname is Sky. It's from the name Skystalker, which is a long time nickname I've used. I'm 18 years old, and I am a beginning artist. My specialty is cartoons, but I'm trying to learn the basic building blocks of art as well, so I may better myself.

I've been drawing since I was about 10 (Last I remember taking it as more than a silly hobby). I've just recently took it much more seriously about a year ago, which I regret not doing sooner, but I cannot change that. I want to work in the animation industry, not necessarily as an animator. (I'm quick with sketches so I was thinking of maybe a Storyboarder.)

I get tremendous support from my friends, family, and even a special art teacher of mine, who's supplied me with various materials and allowed me to experience new mediums. I'm ever grateful for that. :)

I'd consider myself to be a mellow, friendly person. Very goofy sometimes. Never really angry at much of anything. Doesn't mean I'll refuse a chance to rant though. LOL. Sometimes misguided on the things I say, but I'm not afraid to admit I'm wrong.

I adore critiques on my art. Sometimes some of the more strongly put crits strike me, but it only builds me up to be stronger, so I accept them. I'll probably post some art here to show off. :)

Feel free to contact me at any time!

~Sky
